Acceptable Use & Trading Rules.

The conduct rules that apply to every Challenge and Funded Account, on top of the numeric targets in our Terms.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

This Policy supplements our Terms & Conditions and Risk Disclosure. It governs trading conduct on both the evaluation and funded stages — it does not restate the numeric drawdown and risk terms found there, only the conduct rules layered on top of them.

1. Trading Responsibilities

You are expected to exercise your own independent market judgment and trade in a manner consistent with the evaluation's stated purpose — demonstrating genuine, repeatable trading skill on a simulated account.

2. Permitted Trading Approach

All instruments are permitted, at 1:100 leverage on both products. News-event trading and weekend position holding are permitted, subject to the news-blackout rule in Section 5 below — trading around news is not itself prohibited; only profit realized inside the blackout window is treated specially.

3. Prohibited Trading Strategies

The following are prohibited outright, regardless of account stage:

  • High-frequency trading (HFT)
  • Latency arbitrage or hedge arbitrage
  • Tick-scalping
  • Toxic order flow
  • Copy-trading from external or third-party accounts or signal services
  • Coordinated group trading
  • Consistency-rule circumvention — artificially distributing the profit or risk of a single trade idea across multiple trading days in order to avoid the 35% single-day consistency limit in Section 5. This includes, without limitation: partially closing and managing the same position across separate days to spread out its realized profit, or holding opposing/hedged positions on the same or highly correlated instruments for the purpose of shifting when profit is recognized rather than managing genuine market risk.

4. Prohibited Conduct

Two consequence levels apply: Termination — immediate account termination, no refund; Termination + Audit — termination plus the right to audit or investigate the account.

ConductConsequence
Copy-trading (external / third-party signal services)Termination
Multi-account hedging / coordinated opposing positionsTermination
Gambling-style trading (>80% margin on a single trade, martingale, no-stop all-in)Termination
VPN/VPS use without prior written approvalTermination
Third-party account access / credential sharingTermination + Audit
Demo-account exploitation (any technique abusing non-live pricing or execution)Termination + Audit
Consistency-rule circumvention (artificially spreading one trade idea's profit across multiple days to dodge the 35% cap)Termination + Audit

To request approval to use a VPN or VPS, email support@tbmfunded.com stating the reason and the service being used. We will respond within 10 business days. Approval, once given, applies only to the specific service and reason disclosed.

5. Risk & Position Limits

These numeric limits are disclosed in full in our Risk Disclosure — restated here only as the conduct-relevant subset this Policy references:

  • Max loss per trade: 2%
  • Max position size: 20 lots per order
  • News blackout: no open/close within 5 minutes of red-folder news — profit made inside that window is excluded from the payout calculation, not treated as a violation
  • Consistency rule: no single day may exceed 35% of total profit at payout time — a breach is a soft-hold on the affected payout cycle only, never a termination; a held payout is held pending review, never silently denied. Circumventing this rule by artificially spreading a single trade idea's profit across multiple days (see Section 3) is a prohibited trading strategy in its own right, subject to the consequences in Section 4 — separate from, and in addition to, the payout hold described above.
  • Inactivity: account closed after 14 consecutive days with no trades

6. Expert Advisor (EA) / Automated Trading Policy

  • Personally-owned EAs are allowed, with proof of ownership required on request — a purchase receipt, source code, or a platform licence in your own name.
  • Banned (consequence: Termination): third-party or commercial EAs, HFT bots, arbitrage EAs.

7. Firm Determination & Investigation

TBM Funded determines whether a violation of this Policy has occurred and the consequence that follows — up to and including immediate account termination — based on the evidence available to it, and reserves the right to audit or investigate trading activity on any account in connection with a suspected violation.

An audit under this section reviews the trading history, login/access records, and payout-relevant data of the account(s) involved. We will state the ground relied on if an audit results in termination or a payout denial. An audit in progress does not carry a fixed completion deadline, since it may depend on evidence from a third-party platform or payment processor.

8. Enforcement Status

Some Trading Rules are enforced by the trading platform's risk engine and others by our own review at payout time. Where a rule is not yet technically enforced in real time, it remains a binding disclosed rule of this Policy, applied on review. We do not represent any rule as automatically enforced beyond what our systems actually do today.

9. Relationship to Other TBM Documents

This Policy governs trading conduct specifically. It does not restate the numeric risk/drawdown disclosures (see our Risk Disclosure) or the no-refund-on-outcome principle (see our Refund Policy). A termination under Section 4 or Section 6 of this Policy does not entitle you to a refund of the evaluation fee. A Trader who disputes a termination decision may use the internal complaint process described in our Terms & Conditions.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy at any time. Amendments take effect prospectively when posted and do not apply to a Challenge or Funded Account already purchased or issued at the time of the change, except where required by applicable law or where the change is in your favor.
